QR code tracking: see when, where and on what your code is scanned
A printed QR code is a black box unless you measure it. Every scan of a QR-Solutions dynamic code goes through our short link, so it is counted before the visitor lands on your page.
What is recorded per scan
- The date and time.
- The country and city, derived from the IP address.
- The device type, the browser and the operating system.
- A precise location only when the visitor agrees to share it (from Basic).
Where you see it
Each code has its own statistics page: scans per day, the top countries, devices and browsers. The Free plan shows the total number of scans; the full breakdown starts at Starter.
Privacy
After two years, the IP address and location of a scan are anonymised. The count stays.
Frequently asked questions
Does the person scanning need an app?
No. Any phone camera opens the code; the scan is counted on the way to your page.
Can I be told when a code is scanned?
On Pro you can switch on activity alerts per code, straight away or as a digest.
Can I send someone to a different page depending on where they are?
From Basic, smart rules send a scan to a different destination by device, language, country, day of the week, time or date.
